Work Smart, Not Long

You are expected to invest a significant but reasonable amount of time in the project. Projects are graded on the quality of the final outcome, not on the number of hours invested, and appeals based mainly on the amount of time spent will not be accepted.

Advice for working on the project

Five habits that make the same hours produce a better result.

1

Use your brainpower to work smarter

Plan your work carefully, choose the right tools and steps, and keep looking for ways to improve efficiency. Aim to maximize the quality of the results relative to the time and effort you invest.

2

Start early and get something working quickly

Form your team, define a realistic scope, and build a simple end-to-end version as early as possible. Then improve it steadily by adding quality, sophistication, and features.

3

Reuse aggressively and focus on what is novel

Search for existing libraries, APIs, pretrained models, functions, implementations, and ideas. Do not spend time rebuilding what already exists or what AI can generate reliably. Invest your effort in inventing, combining ideas, experimenting, and developing what makes your project distinctive.

4

Review the course material for help and guidance

The course is built around the project. Use the relevant lectures, examples, methods, bots, and guides to solve problems faster and guide your decisions.

5

Validate continuously

Use AI, published bots, and course guides throughout the project to review your work, identify gaps, challenge your decisions and assumptions, catch problems early, and verify that you truly understand what you have built.

Hours invested are not the currency here. The grade tracks the quality of what you build and what you can defend about it.
